    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

They are people who signed up for it, based on seniority. I'm pretty sure some people are happy with driving their buses for the last 30 years. Others wanted to get into subways but positions aren't available. This opened up a couple years ago for sign ups and the selected ones are starting to...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

This means they might actually need a Pickering airport and a large employment area around it. It scores a big fat ZERO on the environments test through.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Until they stop treating construction as a social employment program, it'll never end. It also seem like if they only did construction all at the same time every decade, there will be no expertise left as they all have to look for a different job.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The project has a contingency fund set aside for problem like this. I'm not sure if they used it up since the project was already overrun. Since this is a border station and York Region was suppose to pay a portion of overrun cost, they might be forced to chip in too.

I wonder if their parts warranty has expired on these cars.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Yeah, the stops are further apart. Platforms are longer and higher with level boarding (over a foot instead of less than half a foot). You have to buy your fare first before boarding instead of walking on the streetcar and tapping when (or if) you feel like it. Terminals will have a crossover so...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Since Line 5 and 6 will operate from the same division, the same crews would have to be train for both lines? I think is the biggest hold up.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Can't just read and expect everything on the internet to be true. No bus lane has been approved on Dufferin and no plans are made public yet either. The is the approved queue lane on Dufferin southbound at Lawrence. They also built one on Lawrence westbound approaching Dufferin a few years back.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

It's quite a big increase in spending. Let's see what fare hikes, service cuts and property increase are going to be made to offset this extra cost.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

They should have officers going around to conduct POP checks randomly. Oh wait, people will cry racist and they are being singled out. Nevermind. Why don't they station plains cloth officers at bus terminals with high fare evasion to arrest and ticket them? Even if they don't pay the fines...

Nah, they should be charged with attempted murder. Put them behind bars for a few years and see if they learn.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The biggest reason is incompatibility. Everything up to and including the T1s can't run on Line 1 now. Trams are more compatible to the system but even our fleet still have overhead hurdles and are sidelined. Eventually they'll update Line 2 and possibility Line 4 if that every gets extended.

It was just another subway car…. Till it wasn’t now. There’s nothing unique with them when they retired. We would love to ride the G-1s and have a blast in the past (not in the scorching summer of course). The cost of keeping them alive is unaffordable.

I sometimes find the H5s have a moisture smell to them..

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The 510 is impacted cause of the construction work that closed Spadina/Bloor intersection, not cause of this site.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I don’t see Metrolinx doing any better under any government. They were being useless under the Liberals and continued under the PCs.

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

You can buy one. The XE60 exists but the maximum range offered is the 186 mile model compared to the 254 mile for the XE40. That is only 73% of the range. They would be more suited for rush hour runs like 941 Keele, 953 Steeles East or 985B Sheppard East. When the TTC did the test, they...

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

That would be great if that's accurate.

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

If you read what the report said, it's the end of the line for hybrid artics. The current engines don't meet the EPA2027 specs and thus cannot be sold in a few years. They need Cummins to develop a new engine and NFI needs to invest a significant amount of money to make it fit a new chassis. If...

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

A (big) battery ebus and a trolley pole (with a smaller battery) ebus isn't that much different. One has a power souce, the big battery while the other has two power sources, a smaller battery and two trolley poles. Everything else could be the same. Guess there won't be new artics anytime soon...
