Drab. The east side gets no love.

This monster replaced an ugly decades old parking lot. It removed the parking lot but kept the ugly. Maybe the land is cursed. It’s just soooo awful.

This is a huge site and I can’t tell from the renders what is slated to be built on its west side. Looks like a park but it’s not included in every rendering. The shoring seems to extend all the way to the far west boundary which makes me wonder if another building is slated for future...

Fascinating! I’m assuming that after the southern end is poured the next sections of the super columns will be hoisted on to the column plates that are protruding from the slab. Then, more or less, step and repeat up to the top floor.

Looks like this project is stalled again. Anyone notice any activity on the site in the past three weeks?

Any guesses as to when the slab will be poured? I figure it will take the rest of the week to lay down the rebar. Maybe pour the concrete middle of next week, weather permitting?

Exactly Broadeaves, the placement of electrical outlets is a perfect example of the half assed attitude toward Toronto’s public realm. Will the straps that anchor the outlets be adjusted as the tree grows? Why are they there anyway? Wasn’t the design and placement of these ugly plastic outlets...

It never dawned on me that while above grade construction was suspended due to permit issues the super columns were being assembled off site all along. What a pleasant surprise. This is awesome.
