Well, small businesses will have big problems with garbage. Big businesses such as major supermarkets and movie theatres will have no problems with garbage since they use private contractors.
I hope this Chinese mall is way better and more Western influenced like the Aberdeen Centre then Pacific Mall, Dragon City, Chinatown Centre, etc which are all duds.
The Palace was divided into 3 screens back in 1982 by Famous Players and closed circa 1987. I think the conversion to a multiplex may caused the business to go down at the Palace.
Way before a goth club and a dollar store, that building was supposed to be a single screen cinema called the Academy. The cinema opened in 1934 till about 1965 under the B&F Theatres chain, a subsidiary of the Famous Players corporation.
I heard some people say the narrow escalator at the cinema exit is a potential fire hazard. Every auditorium has a fire exit and that narrow exit isn't meant to be a fire escape because the fire department would have to enter the box office area to get to the theatres. If the large crowds exit...
