  1. SweazyCavalry

    LUX | 27/79/85/115m | 8/25/27/35s | DMA | PMA+Lapalme Rheault

Taken on April 26th. It is quite imposing from the North. It screams for similar height or taller buildings around it (I mean other projects and not just the other Lux towers)

    Gatineau NCC Shoreline/Waterfront

I'm very much hoping that Ruisseau de la Brasserie plan goes through because kayaking will be quite nice
  3. SweazyCavalry

Ottawa | New Ottawa Civic Hospital | The Ottawa Hospital | HDR

It's unfortunate they did not double-track the section under the parking garage. Doing so at a later date will be a complete hassle.

    Ottawa/Gatineau Infill Projects

I feel that the aversion to colour is trying to placate as many people and make it so boring people won't disregard it based on looks. Quite unfortunate that we go for bland because too many people don't like "flair". Although it is possible that in 100 years, people may consider these types of...
  5. SweazyCavalry

    Tamarack Flora | 31m | 9s | Tamarack | Taggart | RLA

    That's just disgusting
  6. SweazyCavalry

    Element | 21m | 6s | Choice Properties+Woodbourne Capital | RLA

    Luxury is the new "typical"
  7. SweazyCavalry

    Kanata | The Point | 28m | 9s | Manor Park Management | Project1

Wait, you mean that this building was "supposed" to look like the renders? Developers really do get away with murder in this city
  8. SweazyCavalry

    Parks, Plazas and Open Spaces

Again, I might be disappointed with where the city currently is, but mindsets about Ottawa are changing. We aren't thinking this is a "small city" anymore, and th better urban design that comes with a "big city" mentality will start to permeate
  9. SweazyCavalry

    Parks, Plazas and Open Spaces

Maybe not needed, but it is certainly nice (nicer than what we had). I hope more of the developments going into Centertown and west of the CBD include these plazas. The current CBD just doesn't have enough and/or is concentrated near the parliament
  10. SweazyCavalry

    Ottawa | 359 Kent | 93m | 27s | Taggart | Hobin

It's time this Great Clump era ends. I'm not sure if councilors believe a table top is in "vogue" or what, but I'd rather not dream about cooking pancakes on my hometown's skyline

    Ottawa | 359 Kent | 93m | 27s | Taggart | Hobin

At least 10 more stories please
  12. SweazyCavalry

    ByWard Market

Critiques are well warranted. I guess adding cobble stone will take time, but the administrative burden the municipal government imposes on itself is frankly ludicrous.
  13. SweazyCavalry

    Maison Riverain | 76/94/106m | 22/28/32s | Main+Main+Equiton | RLA

It just looks like a generic Federal Government Office building. Does not contribute much to Ottawa except density
  14. SweazyCavalry

    Ottawa | Centrepointe Collective | 65+72m | 21+23s | Richcraft | RLA

Get ready for the Carchwart replacement
  15. SweazyCavalry

    Royale & Muze | 62/84/84m | 18/26/27s | Claridge | NEUF

What are the main builders in the Ottawa area then? We have Birgil, Claridge, Trinity, Rimap, ... (I'm trying to remember what the others are)
  16. SweazyCavalry

    729 Ridgewood Ave | 66m | 20s | Brigil | NEUF

That would be great news. Probably their lot with the most demand within city boundaries.
