too bad the bloor street beautification didn't include the stretch west of avenue road. it's a great streetscape but it can really use some trees.

makes me somewhat sad to see how much we lost.

$40 million for a new headquarters? that's peanuts. think of the new bloomberg, by ceasar pelli, or the nytimes building, by renzo piano. this suggests thomson-reuters/globe and mail doesn't value the importance of having a strong physical pressence. that said, compared to...

i don't see what all the excitement is about here. to my eyes it looks cheap, like any old suburban office tower, albeit taller.

be nice if they emphasized design, like the new tower for the nytimes, by renzo piano (i think). i like the way the neighborhood west of spadina is shaping up.

too bad they couldn't have extended Bloor Street beautification a bit further west. In the photo above the streetscape sure looks bleak.

i hope they improve the look of the ground floor. presently it's underwhelming. also, the image of the building seems larger than the site it will occupy allows. are they going to build atop more than just the mcdonalds?

This must be a record. I've never seen a building go up so fast. When they're done (next week?) they should send this crew over to the Charlie.

What Will The Yonge And Bloor Skyline Look Like In 2015?

the scale of the Four Seasons and 1 Bloor east seem exaggerated. Can this be right? They look twice as tall as the Uptown, which is 48 floors tall. The Four Seasons is only 50-something and yet it looms over the rest of the area.

landscaping changes are coming to Front Street? Can you elaborate? I've read about landscaping for that cement triangle at University, but that's it.

those are different bike racks. maybe they'll grow on me. i like the rest of this project so much, these bike racks are a bit of a let down.

wow. it looks like for combined downtown/suburban office space, we're number 2 in north america for total inventory. behind nyc, but ahead of dc and chicago. way ahead of boston, philly, san francisco, and houston.

Does anyone know how many million square feet of office space there is in downtown Toronto? How do we stack up with other cities? Even compared to NYC, DC, Chicago and London we've added a lot of space in the last couple years. But my sense is our office market is still relatively small.

that was a nice music selection. what was the music for the last two videos? nice shots too.

This cyclist is too busy plotting ways to further the war on cars. Our cells are deep undercover in Milton and Pickering planning something big.

Orange. Red looks clunky and stiff. I don't think it would fit into the neighborhood well. The more i look at Yellow the more it grows on me. It's understated. But sort of graceful too.

New Bike Lanes on University, Bay, Spadina, and Other Roads

But the quote seems to have come from city officials, not from a UT forum member. Surely these transit officials are qualified to make these kinds of assessments? As for me, I say "hallelujah". Toronto may soon join the 21st century, transportation wise. In NYC, which added about 500 miles...
