Meh. They're going to spend it anyway. I honestly don't know anything about what TDSB is doing and I honestly don't care. Sorry.

I voted yesterday. Chow for mayor, KWT for Ward 27, the incumbent "Ward" for public school trustee (I don't have kids so I don't care, if they voted her in, may as well keep her in). Now I can completely tune out. I'm so fucking tired of politics. No one is honest, everything sucks, I'm gonna...

What's with the goddamn wind today? If I believed in a higher power, I would say that Doug polling well is the cause of the wrath.

GUYS GUYS GUYS I SAW ONE IN THE WILD! I'm always south of Eglinton and east of Dufferin so I don't actually see any, but I SAW ONE! She was old and weathered and buying lottery tickets. At the Yonge-Eglinton Centre of all places - what a midtown elitist! I was thinking to myself, "yeah...

That's deliciously snarky coming from an insurance company. I used to work for Economical, it was as stuffy as stuffy gets.

Heh, amusing that that's a serious question. http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/509243/Student-convinced-family-trip-around-Asia-despite-never-leaving-bedroom

They do just fine and live longer in captivity, and if you saw this "bowl" you'd see how sophisticated it is. Typical hippie nonsense...

Daily Brew is a Canadian blog, Jonathan Rothman works for Yahoo Canada here in Toronto. Not US media.

Ford has fat ass cancer because he was swimming with the sharks and it's his own fault in the end.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Actually, helicopters can glide - sort of. Enough to save your ass if your engine quits, but it's not very much fun (and while even newbie pilots practice it, I would NOT want to be in a helo that had to do it for real). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autorotation But yes, they are quite loud...

I'm not sure, I haven't looked into it. It surely would help if you had people running from the police, but we do have friends at York Region and, as you pointed out, at the OPP who do have helicopters, but whether the cost of purchasing it and operating it (and hiring pilots, observers...

EC135s are HUGE and used primarily for SAR/ambulance services, although I suppose a wealthy police force might have them just to show off. The R66 is a very capable bird for Toronto - but you won't be taking it to the alps with a stretcher and a few paramedics.
  15. E

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Um. An R66 which can spend 3 hours on station and fly at over 120kt, fully equipped with police gear - imaging, lights, all the good stuff - is like $1.1m USD. Aviation is expensive, but police helicopters are small. For comparison, you can buy an older 737 for about $3.5m! Aviation is...

I don't care if you use that place's menu to make fun of Rob, I would eat the hell out of that. But I'm not fat, so I'm allowed. ;-)

Christ, stop scaring me, guys. I have random fatigue and strange symptoms that come and go out of nowhere, apparently any one of them could be signalling my impending death!

If the number is "listed". Think 411 or Yellow Pages. The address has to match to be listed, so if your address is in Toronto, you know that if you call that number someone who is at least physically present in a property in Toronto is the one answering. Which is a hell of a lot more accurate...

A landline is where a pair of copper wires goes straight to your house. "VoIP landlines" are not landlines, they are Internet phone services. If you have telephone service on the pair of copper wires that go to your house, you have a landline. They are used for polling because you know for...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

You can't call cell phones. For example, for many years, I had a billing address in Toronto with a Toronto number but never actually owned or leased property in Toronto. Calling me would be useless. My friend, on the other hand, had a Montreal address and a Montreal number, but did rent property...
