GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I'm a tad late to this, but I think there's a fundamental misunderstanding of the economics and target market is here. The "NML" is a fancy name for what is Via's "milk route". If there were customers doing 2+ hours to get between Toronto and London, it was because there were no more seats...

Honestly, I'd be happy if GO just replaced VIA service on the Guelph sub, just to pay GO fares.

Can someone refresh us if they've fixed the east end mainline connection into / out of West Harbour? Are trains from Niagara still having to back in from the west side?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

From a Metrolinx blog post, about speed tests this Sunday through Guelph: Holy smokes, are they really going to move that fast through there? The curve east of Gordon / Norfolk will certainly be a limiting factor, but somehow it's unfathomable that they'd be permitted to go that fast where...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Ok though, where is this clear, unequivocal commitment. I'm not defending MX, I'm saying that out of anyone, us UT'ers should be able to dig up those statements by going through the early pages of the thread, and finding links to stuff that's still active, or picking it up from the Wayback...

Was this a freight train in the Willowbrook area?

I guess the fact that they're still as white as printer paper is making me recoil. A few years of grime will make them look better, I'm sure. Great find @crs1026!

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

Some points from my reading: This was a hearing on the City's OPA (395), and the merits of the CRAFT development were not considered at all. There was a bunch of clarification needed around the fact that the OMB changed to the LPAT during this case (Attachment 1), and they had to seek a court...

Point for: I think you guys are underestimating the fact that John Tory needs a legacy project for his timid status quo mayoralty. Point against: ain't no provincial funding coming for this project.

From the materials: vs. what I drew up in Post 1: Right off the bat the setbacks from Harbour Street don't look appropriate. Otherwise, two towers looks managable, they'll just be skinny things though.

I can tell you it was quite cool in the centre moat today, so that would back that up.

Well my kid woke up before 6 this morning, so we managed to take a walk and head down to Union for some pics. Gotta say I didn't realize how open and spacious the West Moat was, holy cow it's huge! I guess that will be taken up by tables and cairs once it's no longer the only route to/from...

I had a thought; with the fact that it's called the TD Carriageway, I'm wondering if it would be a line of ATMs.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Not sure if this involves any mainline work that benefits GO, but work in the Guelph Junction area came to a head this morning, resulting in a protest and blockade. ‘Unacceptable’: Mayor responds to train noise complaints
