Sounds like the union station capacity issue needs some out of the box thinking. How about retrofitting the GO bilevel coaches with doors on the top level and essentially doubling the platform area with a second platform level.

Yes I did, I would argue that if designed well, it wouldn't use up too much park space. The park space is really only used 6 months of the year in summer while the road would be useful for 12 months of the year.

How about this: 2 lanes/direction of the Gardiner go to one-way Front/Wellington which will be 3 lanes wide with "green waves". 1 lane/direction goes to Fort York Blvd/Bremner Blvd.

Personally I think that the current plans for the 427 extension look pretty good. In the long term I believe going up to Barrie makes the most sense as it would ease traffic on the death trap they call highway 400. In addition, I am propsing a second highway 4## which would run from the 400...
