I walked by last week. It looked like most of the tenants had moved in, with some landscaping work underway.

It was clean and quiet as quiet can be.

I’d encourage any of the Cummer or Trenton folks to actually have a walk around in this neighbourhood. It’s hard to see what all the fuss is about.

New Park at 150 Harrison Street

Project Timeline

  • September to December 2020: Conceptual design and community engagement
  • Winter 2021: Detailed design
  • Spring 2021: Construction tender
  • Summer 2021: Construction
The timeline is subject to change.

A new park is being designed for the site at 150 Harrison St., located at the corner of Dovercourt Road and Harrison Street. The park is part of a Modular Housing Initiative to build small-scale infill housing to connect people experiencing homelessness with homes and appropriate supports to help them achieve housing stability. The City is leading the modular housing component of the project, as well as the park design and construction.

The proposed park is in the initial design phase which will be developed through consultation with the community. The proposed plan for the new park may include the following:

  • An open lawn area
  • A new playground
  • Seat walls
  • New benches
  • Game tables
  • New trees and planting beds
The site will require environmental remediation to remove any contaminated soil related to prior land use. This will occur prior to the construction of the park.

We started our Ward 10 Affordable Housing Bike Tour there on Sunday morning...

(*and for the Map-Bros, yes - technically the site isn't inside Ward 10 - Spadina - Fort York since it is WEST of Ossington -- but it was the nearest completed Modular Housing site before we started our downhill ride to the Waterfront)

Hold it @AlbertC ....

What is this:

Is this just resting here? Or this actually an attempt a permanent fence install? Because if it's the latter, that is grossly inexcusable and amateurish.

Flush to the ground not only looks goofy, but it would cause inordinate wear on the fence.
