How many non-incumbent winners will there be on council?

  • Total voters
    22
  • Poll closed .
McMahon is not running again. She has been of the most disappointing councilors. For some reason she is consistently portrayed as a 'progressive' on council but her track record is pure centre-right. She consistently voted for council cutbacks like the recent shelter and long term care cuts. Her most selfish move was her fight to save a school pool in her ward from closure the same day she voted against additional funding for city-wide recreation programs.

Di Dunpar isn't weak -- he's dangerous.

Yes, a crucial goal of the 2018 election is that Di Ciano needs to be replaced.

I think he represents a dangerous melding of the private-public sections (through his connections to Dunpar), much like Ford did with Deco.

She brands herself as 'environmentalist', which is low hanging fruit for closet conservatives. Kind of like the banks hanging up rainbow flags for a few weeks a year and becoming 'inclusive' all of a sudden.

Carmichael Greb has to be the weakest rookie on council (ok, maybe next to Di Ciano) and always seems way over her head. I wonder if Adam Tanel, her closest rival in the nail biter last election, will run again?
I think we will see Dyanoosh Youssefi run again from the left. She will lose again (especially so given political trends in past 4 years and the demographics of this ward) and act as a spoiler candidate for someone perhaps.

Tanel wouldn't be terrible. I am hoping there is another strong candidate who emerges.

And for that matter, re Bravo, would Palacio still be up to it?
Is he up to it NOW? At the last Council meeting Layton called him out on 'untruths" when he said he had never been lobbied by the construction company who were up for being blacklisted by the City for 3 years (they were) . Layton presented entries from the official Lobbyists Register to show he had been lobbied. Frankly, that kind of stuff should be referred to the City's Integrity Commissioner

He was effective at blocking improvements to the democratic process, he was effective at selling important rail land to his brother's company, he was effective at talking out both sides of his mouth with developers, he was effective at finding lots of photo ops for his half-tinder/half-real estate agent website...

You're mixing up Di Giorgio and Di Ciano?

Nice try, though ...
