Not only that, but other than a momentary blip, the NDP have not been in power at all. People who attend these events live in a reality entirely crafted by Smith.
With only 52% of the population vote in the 2023 election, Smith does not have the mandate to sell Albertans out to the Trump led Republican Party in the USA. She sure as hell does not speak for Canada. I think a massive Alberta and Canada wide petition should be launched telling her to stay in Alberta and shut the fuck up - the next Alberta election is 2.5 years away and the clock is ticking.
I wouldn't say it's terrible, given that we hold at least 3 elections every 4 years. StatsCan put out a pretty interesting report on the subject.
We do sometimes take it for granted, but we don't always have good choices and it sometimes seems like the same party always wins.

The 2011 start date is a bit arbitrary, but teachers have taken 0% for 11 of the last 14 years. With raises in those other years being 1.25, 2, and 2.5%. Don't know how this will go over.
