And it is not just legal groups, there is more.... They are also cutting funding for some rural not for profit mental health organizations now which hasn't got much news coverage.

Over the last couple of months there have been some pretty major cuts to disability and mental health non-profits, some of which aren't public information yet. Specifically, it seems to be the organizations with the strongest advocacy and public policy chops. It's very coincidently timed with the announcement of the new ADAP program that is supposed to push people off of AISH and into employment. A program we have been given almost no details about.

The ones I have heard about have been small organizations with tiny budgets, so I don't think it is really about saving money.

There has been a bit of local media coverage in some cases, but perhaps the organizations are not big enough to get attention from the big city media, so it seems so far the government is getting away with it.

I don't know if the government is being vindictive for past advocacy or they find their being outspoken too inconvenient, maybe its both.

Probably a reno, but I would think a semi-major one. The building is literally falling apart, it needs a reno badly. Obviously a replacement would be preferable, but I wouldn't have even expected money for just a rework from the UCP.
I spoke to some admin staff in the Bio Sci department who said that a huge chunk of the $100 million will go towards utilities, and very little of the spending will be visible (but it is much needed)

Uh oh! This was his first and only mistake - he told Albertans to get the Measles vaccine! Imagine the Horror! So Ol' Smitty had to fire him. Who on the planet would ever want to work for AHS or whatever she's calling it now? Smitty should get a job in the US with her fellow anit-vacc'er Majorie Taylor Green and they can hang out and scissor all day down there.
