Saw something Really Rare today, I Saw a CN train at the Allendale station about 2 minutes ago with 5 railcars, They had a Gp9 rm and an SD 40-2w on the consist. Im pretty sure its for BCRY and also I guess then run this late due to GO using the line during day.
I wonder if it is leased power. As far as I know, BCR only has a single GP9. Maybe it was in for snow tires.
The fact that outside of the Corridor we have horrilble train service, even before Covid, really speaks to this.
That does surprise me. You would think GO buses would go to places like Orillia, Midland, Wasaga and Collingwood.
Although I haven't seen numbers, Simcoe County has done a fairly successful roll-out of its Linx bus network. I don't know if they plan to add/move Barrie stops to GO Allendale or new proposed bus terminal. It seems GOs mandate is focused on commuting (not simply travelling) to Toronto. ONT goes to Orillia - it doesn't seems to make much sense to have two publicly-owned carriers compete with each other.
