The plans for the Utah arena require them to renovate basically half of it during the off-season (where they are playing is designed as an NBA stadium). The current set-up means if you are sitting in the upper level, you basically can't see below the hash marks on the end you are at. I was able to go inside the arena this past June, when they had the ice in, as they were doing season ticket sales and you could go "see your view". Talking with their project PM, he said that they will just get through this season, then basically when the lights go out after the last game, they rip out one end of the arena and rebuild it to push the seats back / improve the view. Then, play another season with only one end of the arena with bad seats, and then repeat the process for the other end when that season ends.

I asked him, what happens if they go on a cup run? He said, well, let's hope that doesn't happen......

I'd also say the playoff teams in the west are set. Maybe Utah makes a trade and gets in there but I don't see anyone else in the west getting close.

I expected the Preds to go on a run and get ack into contention, not sure why they are so bad this year.
 
The Flames are disappointing me again. I was hoping for them to tank this year and they can’t even do that! Lol
Seriously though, the tank will come.
 
Evert time I think their about to go into the deep end, they come back with a win or two. The worst case scenario is they finish 9th or 10th, and narrowly miss a playoff spot.
 
I am really starting to doubt the flames ability to be bad for any long stretch of games. A 10-game losing streak seems hard for this team but that's what it will take to really fall out of it because of the points they have already banked. Maybe a Anderson and Kadri trades makes them a little worse but I don't think they're going to be that bad... Damn we are stuck in the mushy middle again.
 
The scoring is still an issue, other than Huberdeau and Kadri having a small resurgence. If Wolf and Vladar have a bad stretch or injuries, they can very quickly fall out.
 
Kadri is actually on pace for about 20 points less than last year (75 last year, on pace for 53 this year) and about where he was in his first year. Huberdeau is also on pace for about 55 points, which would be about the same as the last 2 seasons. This is pretty much where we should be offensively since we don't really have any real star players.
