I could see the Flames finishing 8th if they can figure out a way to score more goals, win on the road, and win a few more in regulation. The bottom half of the Western Conference is not good this year, the West has been dominated by the East, and there is such a drop-off from Colorado in the 7 seed. The Flames will probably be competing against the Canucks (who are currently falling apart) and Blues for a playoff spot.
If they could score a few goals and played Wolf more often I could see them making one of the wildcard spots. I'm still undecided which way I want these guys to go. After losing to Nashville and Utah at home the choice seemed obvious, now it's back to 'maybe'

Flames will have to make a move at the deadline to get a goal scorer, otherwise they will get swept in the first round and we are stuck in mediocrity. The best thing for the Flames would still be to finish bottom 10 and keep our first round pick this year.

Agree on Zegras, disagree on Marner. Neither are coming here though, so we should commit to the rebuild for at least another year. Wolf has put us ahead of the curve, but we still need many more prospects to fill out our offense.

Unless he gets suspended or takes a major penalty that costs us a game. I like his energy out there, and he does have skill, but he takes dumb penalties far too often.

That was said about Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk, they turned out alright. I'm not saying he's them but he isn't losing the flames games either so let him figure it out.
