Saw this on Reddit about the cost to attend a game last season across the NHL.

Flames ranked 25th at $337.82USD.

According to the source, the Fan Cost Index comprises the prices of four average-price tickets, two small draft beers, four small soft drinks, four regular-size hot dogs, parking for one hour, two game programs and two least-expensive, adult-size adjustable caps.

Seems like an odd list of items to buy but anyhow.

Especially the parking for one hour... do these people know how long NHL games are?

Another win last night. Break up the Flames! lol

The didn't look bad against the Oilers, especially considering half the team seems to be from the farm club. The Oilers look like a team that doesn't care about the regular season, they're waiting for the playoffs.

5-0-1 to start the season, love watchin g this team so far. Apparently Conny is looking for a right hand center for the 2nd or 3rd line, guess the teardown is over and the building has started.

I'm thinking Stanley Cup parade route down 6th! lol.

On a serious note, I really expected them to be something more like 1-5-1 to start the season, so this is 100% a bonus. It's also nice to see them score some goals. I didn't expect much from the offense this year.

I'm enjoying the ride and this team has chance to make the playoffs and still sell off some pieces. Probably what Murray wants, make some money and save some money.

The team playing well might actually make their players more valuable. As good players playing well are obviously more valuable than a good players potential (Anderson, specifically). Mantha at this point is going to get us nothing, Kuzmenko might fetch us something moderate (more if you eat money). I could also see Coleman moving at some point (especially if you eat money).

Huberdeau is so hard to watch some nights. I mostly feel bad and just want him put out of his (and my) misery. It is early although I still think he will be bought out at some point (before the new building is my guess (summer 2027). No way this guy plays here until 2031.

Maybe a bit early but isn't playoff contention bad for their picks? Florida and New Jersey most likely won't be top 10, so if CGY isn't top 10, they have to give their pick (assuming CGY pick is higher than FLA) to MTL. If CGY pick is top 10, they keep it and MTL gets the FLA pick (25-30 most likely). They need some high picks for some game breaking talent before they can really compete.

Hell no, I don't want us aiming for the wildcard every year. We need high draft picks not mid round picks. As they showed on Sportsnet, our team desperately needs a #1 Centre, and there really isn't any up-and-comers at centre in the minors aside from maybe Rory Kerins. We need to sell at that trade deadline, even if we're in a good spot, it's just not worth trying to make it into the playoffs when we have no chance of going past the first round.

I fully expect this team to finish in the bottom 10, they are playing well right now but I don't think that will last. I'm glad they're competitive, better for the developing players than trying to tank to get a higher pick.

Huberdeau's base salary is $1M a year, so buying him out wouldn't really save us any money. I think the best case is he plays well enough to generate some trade interest from teams and the Flames keep half his salary on the books.

Definitely not about the money. With the cap going up and the fact we're nearly 20 million under the cap, you can stomach the cap hit. For me, you can handle a 10.5 million dollar turnover machine for the next two season but by 2027-28 that act will be wearing quite thin. used puck pedia's buyout calculator...

Not sure how to calculate a buyout if you do it in summer 2027. Maybe the 2.6 and 4.6 million dollar cap savings in 28-29 and 30-31 still apply? I'll take that in seasons the team should be good.
