Does anyone recall if Foothills Medical Centre has a master plan for it's site and layout? It's ginormous and haphazardly built out - was wondering if there's a vision published anywhere that speaks to things like connections into surrounding development etc.

It has a ring road around it , as does U of C. 1960s design principles were all about self containment.

Sure, but what I am talking about a facility or site plan. Something that gives an orderly sense of coordination between buildings and future phases.

U of C has one:

"Western Securities is also currently developing Uxborough, which is near the University of Calgary, Foothills Hospital and the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Brescia said Western Securities takes possession of a medical office building at the end of March and a residential tower in May. The medical office building is eight storeys and 146,000 square feet with about 60 per cent leased.

The residential tower is 14 storeys with 203 rental units and about 15,000 square feet of commercial space.

Brescia said on completion the 6.53-acre project will be 830,000 square feet. Three more buildings remain to be constructed - an office tower, a hotel and a residential building with commercial space on the main floor."

A few from last week before the snow. Wonder what the corner cut out is for on the brick building, lights?

What a weird choice for the design of the entrance to the brick building. Did two different people design this without ever speaking to each other?

The residential building is better from afar.
Agreed. I like the brick but the entrance is jarring. Doesn't match at all. It's rare to see a full brick building in Calgary. I'm confused why they didn't take advantage of that on the ground level?
