They should just use the same station typology everywhere, just build what’s at NAIT/Blatchford Market for all high-floor stations. I’m fine with that, don’t need a unique, fancy design at each station when costs could be better used at additional trackage, grade separation, LRV purchases, etc.

I'd prefer they copy + paste McKernan (but with actual winterized shelters*) because of the centre platform. I use NAIT Station daily, and it's a pain because we all need to wait on the sidewalk just before the platform until a train arrives. Otherwise, there's a 50% chance that you'll be waiting on the wrong platform, and have to awkwardly jog around to the other platform to board the train.

*Fun fact by the way: in 2020, council looked at winterizing the platform shelters (report, and the attachment), but the funding package ultimately didn't make the cut.

Normally I'd say enough of the "good-enoughism" but seeing that federal and provincial funding is involved then I agree with you.

I actually prefer the revised design -- the first is way out of scale for its function -- architectural chest-thumping to no good advantage.

The Nait station is currently a pain as an end of the line station, but in 1,000,000 years when the Metro line is extended to Castle Downs, this won't be a problem.
