A sad attempt at pomo?I've always found Gov't Centre station a bit odd, especially arriving and taking the escalators into a LEGO house.

One of my criticisms of our city, is our desire to try constantly make almost everything old more modern looking. Perhaps because our city is newer we don't have as much comfort and acceptance of structures from various eras."Odd" is a funny way of saying hauntingly liminal and beautiful. I LOVE the vibe of our mid-century modern underground station architecture and how each station is kinda unique in its own way. Could some stations like Central get revitalization work done and better sight lines? Sure, but the character itself has always been super interesting to me.
I totally get what you're saying (and I agree that we should keep what's fun and quirky), but I don't think "hauntingly liminal" is what we should be going for in a major transit station!"Odd" is a funny way of saying hauntingly liminal and beautiful. I really don't think the empty space or architectural design from another era is deterring people from taking the LRT. If anything is, it is more likely the shady people hanging around.I totally get what you're saying (and I agree that we should keep what's fun and quirky), but I don't think "hauntingly liminal" is what we should be going for in a major transit station!
I was imagining they would build the spans next to the right of way and then use a crane to lift them into place as one whole piece. Are they conducting renewals on the black mud creek bridges as well as adding an additional lane? The southbound one is completely closed. Can’t imagine traffic here at rush hour.
Also curious how they’ll build the AHD bridge. Renderings would say they need to erect steel and then place the deck hangers, but wouldn’t they need extensive falseworks for this like they had for the walterdale?
