Not entirely. ETS has been upgrading all of their NE LRT crossings. Most were done years ago, then 66 St was done after at the same time 125 Ave was built, and then finally through 2025/2026 129 Ave was done because of additional engineering and the need to coordinate with CN.
129 Ave didn't even have a proper sidewalk through the crossing on the southside, so they worked on that and installed new pedestrian gates last year on the southside but didn't commission them. I think they also did new sidewalks and pedestrian gates in the north side but did commission those.
This year it was CN doing work on their track and replacing the the equipment for the traffic lanes and ETS finishing up their stuff. Last time I checked, the southside walk still wasn't open yet.
The crossing upgrades have been to replace aging equipment, but also to improve the pedestrian crossings. Pedestrian gates, wider and safer sidewalks. Given most of the NE LRT crossings date back to before the LRT was built, I'm guessing in the 1970's during construction there probably was less concern for something like a pole being in the middle of a sidewalk than there would be if it was being built today.
There were improvements as well for vehicle traffic, like more signals and cantilevered signals.
115 Ave is scheduled to be done this year.
