I remain skeptical. He's said he's had buyers for his boat several times before. Prospective buyers eventually back out when learning all the details (back taxes, no lease, price to tow).

On the bright side, it looks like WaterfrontToronto is serious about the foot of Yonge St. finally. It's only a matter of time before the boat is gone and WT gets to work on the flagship slip.

I wish authorities could just step in, free the boat from the muck and then let the damn boat & John sail away

I read the Tor. Star. article. I guess I was supposed to have some welling of emotions inside of me after reading that piece, but not really.

I wonder if a lot of people "feel" the same.

Perhaps Georgio Mammoliti is thinking of Captain John's boat for his floating casino? :-> He's just filled with ideas!

Here's HMCS Haida at Pier 6.

I would have much preferred the restored Haida to have been moved from Ontario Place to replace Jadram at Captain John's Pier rather than send the warship to Hamilton. Haida could then have been part of a renewed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto_Maritime_Museum, along with the Ned Hanlan tugboat. Anyone who's been to Halifax's naval museum would be impressed to have some similar on Toronto's waterfront.

To be fair though, the Hamilton location has worked out very well, with HMCS Star located nearby for training and tourism.

I think as long as it's not focused on the casino, but on offering quality banquet facilities then it may have legs.

Funny how Hamilton gets Toronto's nautical cast offs. First Haida, now Jadram. Perhaps Hamilton sees a stronger connection to the water.

If the Ned Hanlan doesn't keep on the Toronto Islands, perhaps she's next.

As long as they take it away ASAP, I don't really care what the thing becomes. Mind you, the proponent doesn't exactly have an inspiring track record, so I will hedge my bets on the outcome.
