Indeed. But at least it would finally be gone.
Not sure that is the best idea. Part of the reason that removing it is so expensive is because it can't just be sunk. The hull is full of asbestos, and other toxins.

I was walking by the ship last evening, and there was a terrible stench emanating from that general area - could it be the ship?

I have no clue when it will be removed, but I'd wager it will not be soon.

JUST IN: Portstoronto sells #CaptainJohn's to Marine Recycling Corp. Boat to be towed out of the harbour by the end of May.

I will believe it when I see it!
