Nice pics...unfortunately the actual Christmas lighting is terrible.

I would have to agree. Toronto does not know the holidays. If Toronto is already saving 90% electricity by using LED lights, then lets put more. (and some nice ones too)

The only good ones are at College Street.

But are the lights the responsibility of the city, or the BIA?

How embarrassingly bad. There is exactly zero design-sense with who ever's responsible for this.

And what's with so much gloomy blue???

Over on Church Street (where you'd hope to see at least a bit of style) it looks even more lame than normal with their sad attempt too.

Third rate, horrible decorations. That blue is so depressing and dismal. I don't know who is responsible but clearly nobody seems to care. Even the decorations on the commercial buildings are woefully underwhelming. Why aren't the big flagship stores doing their part? The Bay makes an attempt, and their canopy of lights and the window displays aren't bad but the rest of the Yonge/Dundas area is simply sad.

The Summerhill CPR tree is looking fine as usual. This year, lights have been added underneath the rail bridge to outline the profile of some of the steel truss members. It looks super! Much better than the crap downtown.

I don't mind the blue, it's just the overall design. It looks like they stopped by the Dollar Store and quickly threw it up. There's nothing wrong with the Dollar Store, but the lighting doesn't have to have that ultra cheap look.

I think the BIA's are responsible for the lights. The city does a pretty good job at City Hall, so I wouldn't think they'd drop off so much just a few blocks away.

The tree at city hall is red and white this year. So is city hall itself - the pillars and the wall along the top of the podium are covered in lights this year. The trees are green and white.

Terrible. Didn't they even consult a lighting expert?

I was in Berlin last year, and they had lights everywhere: Nice and yellowish and warm. Pretty easy.
