This rail engineering program just got announced for Ontario. https://ontariotechu.ca/programs/undergraduate/engineering/railway-engineering/index.php. You would think with the Alto HSR in the east, the probable expansion of rail in Alberta and also the urban rail transit investments happening across the country, it would be nice if U of A could open up a program for rail engineers here and NAIT could start a rail technicians program. SAIT has a Rail conductor program.

Gawd, many places it's cost over runs and longer to actually build passenger rail. Alberta says hold my beer, we will go longer and more expensive for a master plan that just gives aspirational goals, not the detailed engineering, consulting, equipment, building of actual infrastructure. https://edmontonjournal.com/news/lo...other-delay-after-missed-summer-2025-deadline
Thanks for sharing the article. Last I heard, the master plan was going to inform the budget this year, which is dropping at the end of February. I wonder if we’ll see at least part of the plan at that point.
