apologies if somebody posted this already (i didn't see it when I searched for it), but cafe23 looked really cozy when I passed by it this evening. it was closed already, but I'm anxious to try it.

Definitely has that Bohemian vibe that I look for. I believe I might have gone in there once several years ago, but just to grab a coffee and continue on my booty-shorted hot weather stroll. I think it's time for a another visit...

My contribution for today - Krave Cafe along St. Claire West (unintentionally the same area as @Towered this week! 😮 Sadly though, I did not wear fancy tights; however, I did confirm they have a small fake woodstove). Also, @PinkLucy may be happy to know they also have a nice selection of teas.

Ooo, looks lovely inside! That's funny that you went there - I spotted it yesterday when I went to Le Bleu and was intent on going there today before deciding to try some other cafes instead...

We narrowly missed each other ;)

My latest wonderful discovery - Youthful Vengeance on Dundas east of Ossington! At first glance, the very deep and cavernous space with concrete floor and ceiling struck me as cold, but I quickly warmed up to the place due to the mood lighting, quirky art, quasi vintage furniture, selection of games, and most importantly, multiple COZY crunches that one can sink into. Combined with the obligatory hipstery soundtrack (in this case, jazz fusion instrumentals), it suddenly dawned on me that this place reminded me of underground hard loft lounges of the 90’s before Toronto sold its soul to vanilla condo induced genericism. I could definitely picture losing oneself under various influences here after dusk on a brisk fall/winter evening. It’s got the funk.

Today’s discovery! Chloe Cafe in Parkdale (Queen and Brock). Huge space, love the green colour, and there’s a fireplace (though electric)!! It only opened very recently, so it’s still a work in progress. The server confirmed that it will also be an event space. A few more tweaks like adding soft couches and some irreverent art, and this place could really be something.
