Supercoffee, in Mount Dennis, just celebrated their 10th Anniversary. It was a catalyst for regeneration of the Weston Road strip. My celiac friend swears by their gluten-free options.

In Midtown (Y&E), the Coffee Bar (formerly Istanbul Coffee & Bar), has been bought by the pub next door so will be slowly morphing more Irish than Turkish, but for now it's cozy, full of dark warm wood, has fireplaces, and has a front window view that overlooks a crosswalk if you're into people watching. Random bonuses - It's one of the few places I know that still offers Goth lattes and there's eccentric street art nearby.

OMG there's a FIREPLACE - I could kiss you!

Also, I simply must know what a "goth" latte is...

Happy you are happy! 😊 Goth lattes don't actually contain any coffee - mostly coconut milk & activated charcoal. Here's a pre-stirred pic:

This place is just getting going on the coffee end of things but has the most amazing sandwiches (mine was a bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato.) The table in the centre covered in beautiful cookbooks is a nice touch. Another sign of the effect of so many peeps moving onto Dupont. Taken 10 June.

I haven't been on Dupont really at all since I left the Annex, when the original Creeds was still there. I went by yesterday and saw the new Creeds. It looks really nice, though I didn't have time to drop in. Definitely not "cozy" as a vibe, though.

Perhaps I was a bit too chatty but I said ‘every time I come to James Street the cafés and restos have spread a block further north’ to which he said nothing, didn’t look at me and did a head-bobble like I was ditzy! 😂

I took my americano and sat as far away from him as I could. Amazing! ☕

He'd probably been inundated with small talk all day already at that point and was burnt out. 🤣

Not traditionally cozy but very relaxing and independent and it is on University at Wellington. Taken 30 June.

915 DuPont? i also like the Balzac at Distillery District but I'm not sure that's super cozy.
