Just wanted to say that the new open spaces along the Railpath are going to be integrated with it in a great way! For example the organizing central open space evolving beside MOCA. I hope that there is an intention to take down the chain link fence once construction is complete.

Seen today by the Wallace bridge. Not my tag, but I certainly share the sentiment. A year and four months now that the railpath has been bifurcated/closed:

They completed the fencing from the Dundas entrance to basically where the entrance to Henderson Brewery is today. I asked one of the workers when they're taking the fencing down blocking access over Bloor and he said, 'that's a good question' lol. So.. more waiting. God I want this trail back so badly, running across Bloor and Parkside/Keele to get to High Park has almost gotten me killed far too many times.

This is what they told me
  • The railpath south of Bloor St W to Dundas St W will open this fall.
  • The closure between Wallace Ave – Perth Ave will have to remain longer than anticipated. The tunnel construction for the pedestrian pavilion was delayed due to unexpected utility relocations and delays with permits on Randolph Ave.
  • Once the Tunnel Construction is complete the railpath can be fully reopened, we are looking at Winter/Spring 2025.
  • We will send an updated construction notice to the public once we have clearer dates. This will likely be in early April.
  • For the WTRP Extension, we expect work to begin in Fall 2024. We will likely notify the community in a more official way closer to the date.

The traffic light at Bloor and Perth is now operating (and the barrier removed), making for a much easier rail path detour around the closure at the GO/UP station .
Now if only there was a direct cycling connection between Perth and the rail path further South (instead of having to jog to the intersection at Sterling, or take the sidewalk, or jump over the grass)

A new/another part of the Railpath is closed now. No dates on the work order so hopefully this is very temporary. Also no updates on the city project page about the "about a year" closure of the lower part by the UP. Sad to lose a favourite continuous multi use path. Is it related to the other construction?

It's likely for the north-end of the 4th Track installation on the Kitchener Line. Track installation seems to be preceded by noise wall installation, which would be a safety hazard, next to the path.

When I went by today on the GO, there were workers poking at the foundation of the building on the east side. It wasn't clear what they were doing, or whether it's unrelated to the track construction.

As for the GO station itself, there was a lot of rebar visible in the excavation, so one assumes the construction for the underpass to Randolph is progressing.

I believe the closure from Ruskin to Rupont was daily (ie, that stretch is open on weekends), for noise wall and landscaping work. We got a flyer in the mail about it, but tbh since Metrolinx has blown through all other deadlines on this I've kind of stopped paying close attention

I noticed the signage at the sealed off entrance at Bloor has been changed, instead of "closed in November 2022 for approximately one year" now it just says "entrance closed." Anyone have an update as to when we're getting the full Railpath back??

According to the latest Metrolinx "construciton update", the segment from Bloor to Ernest will be closed until Summer 2025:

Say it ain't so! I wonder if, over the next year, they can carve out some time to touch up the blue-green gradient mural? Now that the greenery has died (or maybe been trimmed back?) there's a big blank space. I'm talking about this one:
