According to Blog T.O. "The project team states that the grocery store "holds a long-term lease on the site, and it will be many years before redevelopment can occur." https://www.blogto.com/real-estate-toronto/2024/11/2451-danforth-avenue-toronto/
So, unless the short term plan is to switch the name over to Longos, I doubt that Sobey's is going anywhere for a while...

Its not imminent. That's true.

Though when the development makes sense to proceed with, the lease is not likely to be an obstacle.

Consider this my first rumour/scoop post.

But I’ve heard through the grapevine that BestCo has pulled out of Peter and Adelaide. Sure hope what I heard is wrong but from what I can see through the windows, no fit out work has been going on.

Update: Consider this my last rumour/scoop post.

I hope that's not the case. If so, perhaps they became worried about competition from the new No Frills?

Shall be asked to comment.

Thea above does remind me..........BestCo missed their last target of being open for the Christmas season at Mirvish........

They're now 'early '25'.
