I wouldn't mind seeing an Earls or a Cactus Club (or another restaurant of that ilk) in the old State & Main space. Combine that with a Blenz or Deville's in the old Starbucks space and the RBC transformed into an innovation/AI centre and that intersection will be prominent again.

Will be interesting to see what Starbucks does going forward with their new (old) CEO. They only have three locations now in the Downtown+Oliver area that aren’t in a grocery store. Pretty substantial downsizing.

I don't expect Starbucks to reverse closures in high rent locations in any city they closed down - they were not producing the revenue targets Starbucks or franchises required for the investment. Small independent coffee/tea houses are my choice when we go out for coffee.

Hopefully whoever buys it will give it a new paint job at the very least
 
You won't get the money without doing the work. There would be multiple conditions on these grant dollars and checkpoints or milestones to meet.

That said, here's hoping the former IPL Tower gets going for it is a blight on Jasper right now.
