Hearing Hawkeyes is no longer and a sports bar called The Gardens is opening in in its place. Truly a shame if true as Hawkeyes was a Downtown institution for decades.

I will miss Mary, packed/eclectic karaoke nights with Jungle Jim, solid pie and more than one 2pm Christmas friendsmas.

Cafe Lavi's owner moved over to a local coffee company and so his mom (I believe) is taking it over and changing the concept.

My understanding is that the space is being rented out to a tenant - a Korean eatery of some sort.
I hope it does well.
