Negative. I worked on the initiative and the plan was to replace the temp with permanent, so I will give them time, but it just is poor coordination and makes things look amateur hour once again.

There are dozens of temporary signs, empty poles etc. that all need to be addressed.

I have emailed the PM for the work though.

Great to see the permanent wayfinding pillars making their way along Jasper:

Indeed; curious to see how many end up being illuminated. Many were originally to be backlit like the one in Churchill near the LRT station/AGA, but costs and logistics were proving challenging; so they were to choosing key locations or those easy to bring power to. Apparently solar was looked at akin to E-park, but not pursued for some reason.

Just popped by The RAM (25% Christmas items) and Tix on the Square to grab a bunch of uniquely Edmonton/Alberta gifts.

I highly recommend stopping by to support local/regional producers/creators and you can almost guarantee that the gift will be distinct.

I knew that was gonna happen at some point... why did it happen:? Who the hell knows 🤷‍♂️ but now the city has to pay to fix it.

^^^^ Oh yeah, you need to take a trip to any of America's big cities. Edmonton's vandaltaganisms are small in comparison. CCTV cameras are a partial solution and this poor stand alone could certainly have garnered benefit therefrom (I so seldom get to use that word). It may not be a deterrent but it most certainly gets general specs on the e-x-t-r-e-m-e moronic perpetrator(s).

Gotcha -- NYC, Boston and SanFran all have street-by-street CCTV in some of their core areas which was my point exactly. Get off of the core where the cameras ain't and kaboom -- ghetto city way worse than anything you can find in the Big E. -- https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/08/nyregion/graffiti-nyc.html (courtesy NYC's burgeoning problem) -- https://www.nbcboston.com/news/loca...andalized-in-apparent-graffiti-spree/2077796/ (courtesy Boston) -- https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/graffiti-problems-plague-chicago-area-expressways (courtesy Chicago) -- these are all current articles from the last year -- I could certainly go on (especially since I live near L.A. and do a lot of work in SanFran and Oakland). When you travel to these cities, you gotta get away from your 5-star hotel if you want to see how the other half lives.
