So downtown is fun these days, hey?

I'd be interested to hear, what is everyone's favourite 1 block stretch currently, and why. And then what do you think has the highest potential in the next 5 years to significantly improve?

For me, the pedestrian area between enbridge and scotia is a favourite. I often take friends from out of town nearby there for a good impression.

For an area to improve, im really hopeful on 103st from 102 to 103ave. With encore and ultima, the ice district, soon to be loblaws, CC renos, the building on 102ave with the atrium (blanking on name). I really think this will give us another 104th street. Both should be very strong in 5 years. Especially with falcon, Hudson, clancey, BG, all potentially coming too.

Bonus. 102ave from 121st to 119st is a current "core area" favourite and i also think will be one of the best places to live in 5 years with new projects around there.

Favorite 1 block stretches of downtown:
- Rice Howard Way west of 100 St
- 4th St Promenade from Jasper Ave to 102 Ave

Highest potential for improvement:
97 St from 103A Ave to Jasper Ave, once the Winspear and LRT construction are completed

102 Ave from 99 St to 101 St is my favourite.

In the future it's gonna have the LRT, renovated City Centre and Manulife Malls, a new highrise on the old BMO site, and it could become a pedestrian only area.

I'm partial to 99 Avenue from 104-109st.

Museum, park, Bistro/patio, future bistro/patio in Augustana, potential on the site north of the plaza on 108st, the Leg and the entire stretch is Heritage Trail and quite wonderful to stroll along.

Ditto. I overall really, really like the gov't district of downtown. Supremely underrated area of Edmonton, IMO
