Upgrades to Westjet check-in areas at YEG can’t come soon enough. They continue to be the dominant airline and would like to see their area improved.
Yes, great additions. When asked about Europe or Asia, he said that's not in the cards anytime in the next few years.
CEO of WestJet talking about continuing to increase flight offerings over the next 10 years.
I watched a hard surface version of these robots in Vienna's airport a short while ago. It was almost fun watching them putter about and also watching people's reactions.
The Airlines fly routes that make the most profits / has demand. In Canada , Toronto YYZ , Vancouver YVR and Montreal YUL & Calgary YYC is where they make the most money & where the increased or new flight frequencies are.In the end the most likely way to get improved service here is if more customers refuse to be treated as second class by the airlines.
Tell us something we don’t know. People are just venting their frustrationsThe Airlines fly routes that make the most profits / has demand. In Canada , Toronto YYZ , Vancouver YVR and Montreal YUL & Calgary YYC is where they make the most money & where the increased or new flight frequencies are.
For cities like YEG, Halifax YHZ, Ottawa YOW, Winnipeg YWG etc , that are non hubs is tougher to get new routes every year.
Plus after Covid19 pandemic, a lot of airlines are still consolidating their routes to make them more full through their busier hubs. A pretty good example why the Edmonton YEG - Hamilton YHM route still hasn’t come back yet as WestJet rather consolidate it through YEG-YYC-YHM.
It is venting partly, but it is more than that. And actually we are getting more services now - standing up for ourselves will help, being defeatist about it does not.The Airlines fly routes that make the most profits / has demand. Yeah, the feds locking international travel to those four largest airports during the pandemic really screwed over YEG and our momentum of trying to attract more long-haul pencil routes on smaller aircraft. The Airlines fly routes that make the most profits / has demand. Yes, that did set things back, but fortunately that is over now. Also, I always find it a bit strange when Edmonton gets lumped in as a small market with much smaller cities like Halifax (a third of our size) and Winnipeg (half our size).Yeah, the feds locking international travel to those four largest airports during the pandemic really screwed over YEG and our momentum of trying to attract more long-haul pencil routes on smaller aircraft.
