I don't know if Calgary is a bit desperate for wins, but it looks that way.

Really? They already have a facility in Calgary, they have a range of very antiquated aircraft, so... "revolutionary"? Colour me skeptical. Maybe for the local mayor it is.
This is a supposed build out over 15 years. I don't even know if this company will exist in 15 years based on their apparent lack of current sales.
It is all spin, but of course the average person is just going to read this and think *oh geez, Calgary is awesome and building so many businesses*. That's exactly the intent and the media are complicit in this over the top boosterism.
This service only restarted up after the pandemic a few months ago, so I don't see it as a big loss - just more of the status quo from Air Canada. I expect they will be back on the route next summer.
