Bingo. The approaches for STARS are a primary reason and having spoke directly with this developer (Highpoint), they confirmed that and would have otherwise done a 20-25+ storey.

Hopefully they're looking at other sites in the city, preferably downtown/Oliver area.

Ah would have been amazing for this to have been taller; would really have stood out in an amazing way. But agree with @bodsbods9090 I hope they build something of similar quality and taller elsewhere in and around the core.

Sidewalk on the east side of 112th St is open again. Scaffolding over the sidewalk removed on the west side of 112th St too.

Looks like 84th Ave is getting the neighbourhood renewal treatment. This was delayed because of the ONE12 construction. Per the Garneau Neighbourhood Renewal Plan, 84th Ave is due for a bike lane. Hopefully it gets installed this fall!

If Langham is reading, this is how you apply blank walls with glazings. The mullion lines next to the wall lines are the same. That is how you keep connectivity flowing (imitating exactly the applications on the glazing side).

I like variety and it is nice to see the buildings from 3 different eras in the picture. It also helps us feel less like a boom town that was built in one or two eras and more like a real permanent city, which we are.

Garneau just needs one or two more taller towers, around the height or slightly taller than Maclab Garneau and it will legitimately become a secondary skyline, along with West Oliver and the Stadium area

The Ashbourne Seniors Residences across the street was recently sold and residents are being moved out. New owners want to redevelop the site, so we may see something proposed there at some point
