I remember that Sohi mentioned the HAF goal of 35,443 units was a high and lofty goal. To see that we're already 42% of the way there, and the year isn't over is insane tbh.
The Year?! Forget that…..we’ve got 2 years + 2 weeks to reach this goal. Lol

Oh this must really irk some of those at the centre of the universe that we are building more houses than them, especially considering many of the people there think Edmonton is a much smaller city than it actually is.

Younger people in the GTA who want to have a family are not going to wait decades for sanity to return to housing prices there. A lot of retirees there are going to be visiting their grand children here and in other places in the future.

At least we are trying to make up for some of their shortfall.

Hey all - Not sure if this has been discussed , but I am curious if anyone knows the plans Edmonton South West and Edmonton South Central, just north of YEG

Population growth is about to collapse. This could easily mean oversupply in many markets soon.
Oversupply already exists across rural Canada. Everyone is moving to metropolitan areas because basic services are significantly more limited in small communities. See medical care, internet connection, access to public facilities, etc

Recent update from a realtor says that condos are up 15.4% y/y to $194k.
I just checked the average of also condo listings in Edmonton, it's currently at an average of 263k and a median of 209k. YoY from earlier this month was 17%.
