How about the GIANT octopus that was originally envisioned that was to have been in the SEC of this plaza with tentacles coming out of the ground in the landscaped section/east garden of Churchill and possibly further north.

+1. The giant octopus was my favorite of the early drafts but I'm still fairly content with this.

I like it! Yes, perhaps a bit whimsical, but sometimes I think we are far too serious for our own good. Do we want to become a city that fun forgot?

Many parts of the downtown core come across as too cold and austere and we need to lighten them up a bit.

Nice forms and well executed. The planted soil berms should take the landscape interesting. I hope the library programs the space for lots of active uses -- a great space for street entertainers to set up shop..
