I’m also curious how long the pit can sit there before it becomes unsafe, the board in the retaining structure are starting to look rough and there are a few that are completely broken. Maybe that’s not an issue, I know nothing about it, but it seems like they only have so long before that hole threatens surrounding property.

As for the parkade. Unless someone gets really creative, it would be hard to recoup cost for a 5 or 6 story building. Underground Casino maybe?

As for the shoring, lots of variables. Has it been monitored for movement? is the engineer on record even still around? typically shoring has about a 1 year life span before modifications and repairs need to be made. The freeze thaw cycle can cause havoc.

The pit that eventually became The Hat at 5 Corners was there for several years. No idea how long they last but there definitely is precedent.

There are workers on site, they seem to just be pumping out the lake that's formed at the bottom of the pit. Probably nothing but could possibly be a good sign?

Well whose paying the $100 bucks or so for these fellas to pump water? The owners of the pit?

I’ve given up on this pit. During the UDI tour they said early 2024…

They’ve missed 6 deadlines. It’s worse than LRT openings haha.
