I'm guessing that there could be some challenges with the old coal mines.
They own the land, it'll revitalize that part of downtown, it's near the conference centre, and no other tower would have as good of a view.What I don’t understand is their commitment/stubbornness to the specific site. There are plenty of empty lots a tower could go with way less headaches.

The sale to Alldritt hasn’t closed yet, it was supposed to in 2020 but was pushed back because of the pandemic.
