I'm wondering if there was an issue with the shoring on the east side. I see there is a graded area along that side.

Hearing rumors that the Windsor Terrace project has gone sideways. The owner may have to sell the site.

Wow, that sucks. It has been a long, troubled road just to get to this point so I was hoping that was finally in the past and it was moving forward... guess not.

This was one of the best looking projects on the go. Sad to see. Hopefully someone can take it over.

Has anyone heard any new developments about this one? We submitted pricing for the glazing system using our system back in August. If anyone's curious about our system check out the files. Let me know your thoughts. We differ quite a bit than the traditional systems used. The secret sauce is the internal breaks.
Heard they might be switching to rentals, but that would be a pretty drawn-out process I imagine as they would need to refund existing deposits and refinance with the banks.

Its too bad that Condo rules for development aren't more flexible, allowing rentals and ownership to exist in the same building -- there could be a vertical split just like the hotel/condo split in the Ice District. It would certainly ease pressure on developers and allow for more creative building solutions.

Exactly, @Daveography -- the mix could even include sole-proprietorship businesses and professional services. I wonder what the City would do with a proposal that included all three in a tower with theme-oriented retail and hospitality at ground level...

So I was talking to someone in the know yesterday, it sounds like the hold up is they have been unable to secure air rights from the building next door, as the crane needs to be able to swing slightly over the building.

@westcoastjos Not all builders have access to one. I don't think there are a lot of them available in Edmonton in general.
I guess. There have been a few though - you'd think it would be roughly the same as going to court though, especially if you lose the court case.
