That surface parking lot remains, I gather?

For now, yes.

Though the idea of a parking structure is being explored to provide more spaces over a smaller footprint.

I continue to encourage them to explore buying the church/school lands to the south-east and shifting the parking over there, but there is no budget for that at the moment.

So right now, the plan is to 'green' the parking lots with the medians and borders being fully landscaped and incorporating sustainability into the design. Though as noted a structure hasn't been ruled out.

I have also encouraged them to incorporate sustainable transportation as much as is practical including Bikeshare, future cycle track/multi-use path along Leslie, enhanced pedestrian streetscapes on Lawrence and Leslie as gateway to the garden, and enhanced public transit stops. (extra-large, heated-in-winter shelters, outdoor seating, TBG-worthy landscape/streetscape, seasonal drinking fountains.
