They can advertise all they want.

If the coat of paint doesn't really improve travel time and makes travel worse for many others the final result wont be so desirable. This is a far too important of corridor to the City to be hacking a poorly designed 'feel good' gesture

Special interest groups these days promote this narrow lens crap but it wont fly with voters. The entire City will likely pay again politically and financially for this nonsense in the decades to come.
By nonsense you mean a dedicated bus lane from the UTS to Kennedy Station?

The traffic lights are handled by a department in Toronto of old boomers who think the car is king and they fight tooth and nail for it.

Realistically the traffic signals are not even set up to be car friendly in most areas of the City

The biggest issue paralyzing the City of TO is that it can only cater to one group, or ideology at a time. There is far too much political pressure right now to cater to special interest mobs, and compromise with outside areas looking to cut corners in designs for others areas. Once this pisses off the the majority of local voters and political representation occurs the flip flopping begins costing years and $ and you can never start from scratch. This is not healthy planning.

And this specific design for the bus only lane is really one of the most reckless designs we've seen to date on two of the most important corridors of the City. Couple that with the upcoming Eglinton West tunnel and you've got another massive apathetic socioeconomic, radicalized storm brewing under the surface in the coming years.

What an unnecessary mess.

GL to the entire City looking to move forward

When did any Toronto mayor ever have a funding plan for transit ever? Begging higher levels of government for money has always been part of the process.

That is one issue for sure. The Province and Feds are similar in that area in regards to lack of long term funding plans although they have the vehicles the City doesnt to build. In any case City lobbying still has to occur and can never be effective when the City itself refuses to put together equitable plans the residents can unite around in support.

Knowing full well what is going to be built on Eglinton West this has to be the least equitable proposal to date that may even top the madness we witnessed trying to replace the out of place, disjointed RT. This one here has been tee'd up for heavy backlash for decades to come. Cant wait for the Citys politcal media sales pitch to start its standard pushback against the majority residents who live here again

Knowing full well what is going to be built to Scarborough town centre (subways, subways, subways) the Finch LRT has to be the least equitable proposal to date that may even top the madness we witnessed trying to replace the out of place, disjointed RT....

Also how will they manage to pull of a Dufferin bus only lane from Exhibition to Eglinton
They'll have to set up some cameras to take pictures. If someone is caught in multiple cameras, it's a good indication they are driving on the bus lane. Oh wait, this is Toronto not Fantasyland. Nevermind

The transformation begins. This is Morningside.
