See if the city was thinking smart like you here then I would be fine with this. Use TTC gauge, extend the 503 to Malvern as well. But they're going to use standard gauge, which is ridiculous. Like I said before, MX and others are trying to make LRT look as bad as possible in the GTHA with some of the decisions being made. I think MX should be forced to extend the crosstown but they would screw that up too.

And the TTC is not without fault here. There's a transfer at Kennedy because the line will be too long without one.
They haven't said what tech it will be using. The only thing they have said is that it won't necessarily be compatible with the Eglinton Line, and they are looking for vehicles that can climb some of the slopes required for the line. As such, using Outlooks doesn't seem to be off the table at the moment.

The Outlooks are able to climb the grades because they are all wheel drive, no reason the same could not be added tp a Freedom model.

Still, connecting this line to the Streetcar network should be looked into. We could extend the 503 to Eglinton and we could have some neat service patterns. We could use the opportunity to rid ourselves of the ECLRT standard.

If they plan on 50m platforms, the LRV's will be the same 48M LRV's that Finch and Hurontario Lines are getting. This puts a spike of any thought of having Kingston Rd connect to Eglinton.

If you are going to have the 2 lines connect, then the Kingston Line should only run From Queen Loop as you will be dealing with Mix Traffic and you know that does for service.

ML botch the connection from the CT line to this line with Line 2 in the way and no way under it from Kennedy station,

Provision should be made for a possible 503 KINGSTON ROAD streetcar extension, east of Bingham Loop, to Eglinton-Kingston Road. Keep Line 7 as light-rail, but put the 503 KINGSTON ROAD on a grassy right-of-way as a streetcar/tram, meeting up with Line 7.

If Berlin, Germany can do it, so should Toronto with Kingston Road. See twitter link. Would be better to get double-ended streetcars for the legacy network, so we can replace the loops with crossovers.

The original EA did show a bus loop next to the stop, in the green area.

It may be a pipe dream, but that MSF is located (somewhat) near the old zoo monorail, which is being considered as a stretch goal to be reintroduced for their redesign. They are looking into funding for this or other technology to transport people around the property.

As a regular user of Sheppard transit, nearby cycling facilities, the Zoo, and Rouge Park, it would be (Selfishly) convenient to have a direct connection between all these locations. I haven’t seen any recent discussion about this idea, so I thought I’d put it out there. However, there may not be enough demand for it. Perhaps it’s just my nostalgia for the old Canadian domain ride.

So close, yet no spur to the zoo?
A seasonal bus shuttle running from McCowan-Sheppard or Scarborough Centre to Toronto Zoo with a stop at Morningside would make way more sense. There just isn't a high demand for a 3.5 km LRT extension for which its ridership is reliant on a single point of interest with nothing else in the area.

From CPTDB: February 25, 2004 - Due to unacceptable financial performance, staff received a report recommending that future operation of the 194 Zoo Rocket to be discontinued during the TTC Board Meeting.[1] This recommendation was rejected but the Commission directed staff to "maintain Saturday and Sunday service on the 194 ZOO ROCKET for one more summer, including improved advertising of the route".

It was discontinued that summer. But it tells us that if a bus has terrible ridership, an LRT branch to the Zoo would be a terrible idea. at the very least, should be on the low-low list of priorities we have.
