Why do people still call it "Etobicoke?" Etobicoke and the other municipalities were amalgamated into a single city so I don't quite understand why people are still living in the 1980's.

Why do people still call it "Etobicoke?" Etobicoke and the other municipalities were amalgamated into a single city so I don't quite understand why people are still living in the 1980's.
Despite the best efforts of Mike Harris and his band of hooligans with their forced amalgamation, Torontonians still identify their neighbourhoods as their place of residence.
I live in Etobicoke but if anyone asks me where I live, I always say "Mimico"
