If it is the Reliable Bedstead Co maybe he's the "Bed Tester" - it looks as though he just got up!Looks like a real muscle man looking out the top window--just saying.

Around 1900 this radial was powered by Wheelock-pattern compound steam engines from Goldie & McCulloch in Galt.Toronto & York Radial Railway.....photo 1910 TPL
Begun early in the early 1900s, the Toronto & York Radial Railway provided transportation from the end of TTC service on Yonge St. (near the Toronto city-limits) to northern communities. Eventually, the line became very popular with rural families who needed to reach Toronto and city folk who found it a convenient service to reach campgrounds, beaches and cottages along the route that finally extended to Lake Simcoe.
The line was finally abandoned in 1948 when improved automobile transportation became more convenient.
This site has photos describing the route: http://www.trainweb.org/oldtimetrains/radial/Metro/history.htm
