We should’ve got a finch crosstown. Imagine how hectic that would be during construction

It should still be done. Once the Finch West LRT is well under construction, the next phase for an extension to Yonge should be initiated, and after that a Finch East extension well into Scarborough.
Unfortunately the subway subway subway crowd would rather steer money away from common sense into the endless Sheppard subway debate and then complain about painted Lanes for busses.

Worse is that likely that "subway subway subway crowd" would NOT even use the subway nor the buses.

It is too early to assume Finch Crosstown LRT will be opposed / blocked in favor of Sheppard subway etc, since no serious push for Finch Crosstown has been made up to this day. No formal proposal, no benefit case, no EA etc.

The link from Keele to Yonge is on the books, getting it built is the first task. After that, both the local and the provincial government may see the extension further east as a quick win, and get on board.

Overall, getting an extension of the existing line is usually easier than getting the first section.

Sheppard should be completed. It should extend to the Airport and STC at the very least, and should keep the existing vehicles and such.

Isn't extending Line 4 to the airport a waste of money though? Sheppard West fine but we already have Eglinton proposed to service the airport as well as Finch and a potential Kitchener Line branch.
