The President Admits His Motive for Holding USPS Funding Hostage Is that He Doesn’t Want Americans to Vote by Mail

Presidential elections are run by the individual states; it is up to them to decide how ballots are cast. I don't know US law but have to believe that overtly interfering or frustration the electoral process sure sounds like a felony.

'Do you regret all your lying?' White House reporter's question startles Trump

Aug 14, 2020

SV Dáte had waited five long years to ask Donald Trump one question: “Mr President, after three and a half years [of Trump’s presidency], do you regret at all, all the lying you’ve done to the American people?”

Confronted with Dáte’s question at Thursday’s White House briefing, Trump responded with a question of his own. “All the what?” he said.

Dáte: “All the lying, all the dishonesties.”

Trump: “That who has done?”

“You have done,” said Dáte, who is the Huffington Post’s White House correspondent. “Tens of thousan–”, he began to say, before Trump cut him off and called on another journalist, who asked a question about payroll tax.

In July, the Washington Post reported that Trump had told more than 20,000 “false or misleading claims” over the course of his presidency.

The reporter after him dropped the ball by not backing up Daté.
Trump asks Twitter: I don't really know if that question is loaded or not.

"Thoughts and prayers." The usual Donald Trump response.

The thesis that our time is defined by the decline of the American empire I believe to be historically distorted.

Our time is defined by the rise of the US and the Americas as significant geopolitical forces. The US loosing title of most powerful superpower say to China will not change this. China has periodically been the worlds largest superpower for thousands of years. It’s the rise of the Americas that have changed the global power dynamic not the other way around.

IMO the US started to lose its reputation around the later 1950s when Eisenhower came into power. They started going at it with the Russians, then Vietnam hit and things went downhill from there.

If anything the next superpower will be Europe and the EU.

The Roman Empire was still strong under Emperors Caligula and Nero.

The United States of America was still strong under Presidents Nixon and Trump.

In both cases, the bureaucracy was or is what is holding them both up. However, Trump is messing the bureaucracy making the fall of the US more possible and quicker.

‘Don’t buy Goodyear’: Trump uses the ‘cancel culture’ he once denounced

From link.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday urged people to stop buying Goodyear Tires, in a tweet that appears to urge his supporters to participate in the same “cancel culture” he denounced last month as a “weapon” of the “totalitarian” left.

“DON’T BUY GOODYEAR TIRES” Trump tweeted in a caps-filled message on Wednesday morning.

“They announced a BAN ON MAGA (Make America Great Again) HATS. Get better tires for less!” He went on to blame the alleged slight on the “Radical Left Democrats,” adding: “Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!”

The spark for Trump’s Goodyear rant appears to have been a news report by WIBW in Topeka, Kan. The station published a photo of a presentation slide that was allegedly shown to Goodyear Tire employees at a diversity training session, which listed “MAGA Attire” as unacceptable at work. The slide also suggests that Black Lives Matter or pro-LGBT messages are acceptable, but “Blue Lives Matter,” “All Lives Matter” and political slogans are not.

Goodyear has distanced itself from the slide, saying that it did not come from the company’s corporate office.

Trump’s attack on Goodyear came after he railed against “cancel culture” in a speech at Mount Rushmore on July 4. The phenomenon often involves boycotting a person or brand for perceived misdeeds, regardless of political stripe. However, Trump has sought to portray it as a purely left-leaning activity, despite frequently using the same tactics against his own enemies, especially on Twitter.

“One of their political weapons is ‘cancel culture’ — driving people from their jobs, shaming dissenters, and demanding total submission from anyone who disagrees,” Trump said in his Independence Day speech.

“This is the very definition of totalitarianism, and it is completely alien to our culture and our values, and it has absolutely no place in the United States of America.”...
