I like these new proposals for Brentwood, but I would almost prefer more on the scale of Noble (shown above). If they completed that next phase of University City, and the Bentwood Commons, they could call it a day for high rises and move onto low rises.

Is it by the same group that did University City, or was it just colour coded to match for fun? :p

I wonder if anyone is going to take a crack at redeveloping that mall in whole or in part? I remember seeing the TOD redevelopment plan for the area ages ago. It looked nothing like what's there now, but it isn't like any of us have seen anything concrete come from those TOD plans.

RioCan is the overall land-owner and developer for this area (apart from the Co-op). They have partnered with different residential partners on each phase, with Knightsbridge for the first buildings that are up now, and now with Boardwalk for this new proposal.

And how can you saying nothing concrete has happened? There are 5 buildings up, and a 6th has been proposed. It takes time for these plans to come to fruition, that is why most ASPs and ARPs are 30 year visions.

Fair point. But so, sue me for being impatient. This a forum for people who like buildings. I need MOAR! o_O

This is the badboy I was thinking of. (https://media4-production.mightybell.com/asset/729167/Brentwood_Station_ARP.pdf) I guess I'm waiting mostly on seeing the new streets appear in place of parking lots.

^^I remember a rendering showing Brentwood TOD as small laneweays and streets, etc.. I don't know if that will ever actually happen as the Mall would need to be redeveloped altogether. I could be wrong but I believe the rendering was more of a concept rather than actual changes planned.

Throwback Thursday construction pic. Any guesses on this one?

Nuera? I see Victoria Park Station in the background and clearly to the South East based on the vantage and the tower construction appears to be along an avenue rather than a street. It doesn't quite far enough along to be Keynote.

I haven't really looked into the whole plan for Brentwood, but judging by the the way they've zoned it out, they are expecting each zoned parcel to be developed individually and would then have streets or lane-ways in between. If it works out that way, that'd be great. If the are becomes a cluster of highrises tied to the existing mall setup, that would be okay.....kind of a consolation prize, but still very workable.

I posted a new thread about CalgaryNEXT. They've released a slew of new renders that show greater detail than what we've seen before. I actually like it a lot now.

Here's a preview...

I've noticed another crane down in Kensington lately, does anyone know what's happening there? It's west of the Ezra crane.
