This looks so good, it was weirdly wide before at this point. With parking/loading lane it was like seven lanes across...

I look a closer look at 97 St this afternoon. Apart from the gate, some work still needs to be completed on the sidewalks and still requires amenities such as seating and garbage/recycling bins.

Really glad they dieted this road down. Too many streets downtown are absurdly wide.

I love how this area now looks. And with the gate as well as the Winspear addition I hope this section of 97st see's more love from local businesses wanting to establish in this area.

The hardscape is solid -- one would think, however, with a vast selection of evergreens in the Edmonton plant palette that a few might have made their way into these planting beds. Someone at the City messed up, no?

The landscaping is quite good. I like the walkways through the planters and the large rocks to sit on. I noticed that all the plants are drought resistant. Putting spruce or pine in would be tough, however it would have be nice to see some Mountain Ash or another native fruit tree.

too bad Canada Place can't open up the street fronts. It's so cold and monolithic.
