Hey Triangles! We have (rather harsh 🤭) lighting under the Barrie Line. And momos!

There is renovation on the building that houses Ethica Roasters to create a largish, street-facing retail unit. A welcome addition! And there is new outdoor art at MOCA. Finally it looks like The Sterling Tower has filled up. Taken 13 September.

The baked goods on display are more interesting than those curated exhibits.

We need better art.

Yes, admittedly I've always felt underwhelmed by the artwork at MOCA. I'm more impressed by the work created by students each year at the OCAD Grad Ex.

The top floor of the Sterling Automotive Building is open and provides great views of the Triangle and beyond. I liked the Biennale display but I am not a critique so can’t comment on its quality. Taken 21 September.

It's not necessarily the art. All the textures of the concrete on the floor, walls, and ceiling, coupled with the many columns and the wiring on the ceiling, compete for the eyes' attention with the art itself. Solid-coloured walls in a neutral colour would create a neutral background for the art to come through better.
